European Union Police Services Training
After the success of European Union Police Forces Training (EUPFT) 2008-2010 and EUPST l (2011-2014), the European Commission has made funds available for EUPST ll 2015-2018. The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (RNLM) is the lead partner in the EUPST ll consortium and runs the EUPST Programme Office.
17 consortium members and 13 countries
The members of the consortium are : Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands (Royal Netherlands Marechaussee and National Police), Poland, Portugal, Romania (Jandarmeria and National Police), Spain (Guardia Civil and National Police), United Kingdom (Stabilisation Unit) and CEPOL (Collège Européen de Police).
EUPST ll programme
The goal of the EUPST II programme is to build up police capabilities in the areas of interoperability, harmonisation and the international police network for participation in crisis management operations of the European Union, the United Nations, the African Union and other international organisations. The programme comprises large-scale live exercises, modular training courses and (academic) conferences and workshops.
In the period leading up to 2018, 5 comprehensive live exercises (2 weeks), 12 training programmes (1 week) and 5 workshops / academic conferences will be organised in the consortium member nations. A total of 2,000 police officers and gendarmes will receive training and instruction for deployment to EU missions with a police component.
